Amazon Principle UX Design
Why I'm a Strong Fit
For more than 25 years, I've helped organizations navigate major technology shifts by bringing together design, product, engineering, and strategy to solve complex problems. Throughout my career at Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and UiPath, I've focused on creating the systems, processes, and experiences that make complexity feel simple. I see AI Agents as the next evolution of user experience, moving beyond designing interfaces to designing intelligent collaborations between people and AI. My background in systems thinking, Design Operations, design systems, and product strategy, combined with a passion for evolving conventional approaches, UI models, positions me to help define the next generation of agentic experiences that are intuitive, trustworthy, and transformative.
| One of the best indicators of future potential is the confidence of people you've worked with before.
As UiPath began investing in AI Agents and reimagining the future of enterprise experiences, their engineering leadership reached out to reconnect, not to discuss Design Operations or Design Systems, both of which I had helped establish during the company's early pre-IPO growth, but UX Design Strategy. Vikram and I had previously worked together at Microsoft on a highly technical product where we tackled complex engineering and user experience challenges. Years later, he remembered my ability to challenge conventional thinking and bring systems-level perspectives to difficult design problems while influencing the team along the way. That conversation affirmed the value of the principles I've developed throughout my career, one I believe aligns closely with Amazon's Velocity team: combining systems thinking, design leadership, and a humble, human-centered approach to create intelligent experiences that make complex technology feel simple, intuitive, and trustworthy.

AMAZON EXPERIENCE
My time at Amazon was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I thrive in environments that value customer obsession, ownership, high standards, and a bias for action. I originally interviewed for a Principal UX Designer role supporting an early "Home of the Future" incubation exploring projected kitchen experiences. The pioneering vision work I had shared from Microsoft's Connected Home Group drew the attention of VP Ian Freed.
Unfortunately, the project was shelved during my onboarding, a director from my interview loop encouraged me to join his team as a Design Manager recognizing my design and photography background. While this initial role was not pure UX I was fortunate to have some very seasoned Amazon Leaders ramp me up on the Amazon expectations. I managed a team of 15.

After a year in Digital Asset Design Management, I was drawn back to the Digital Devices UX Studio to work closer to product strategy and hardware customer experience. I led the UX program delivery for the Core Tablets platform, coordinating six devices per release across multiple launch cycles. Alongside this, I helped establish the first shared Design System (Ember) spanning Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and Fire Phone, while managing the executive design review process—from implementation through ship—for both first- and second-party applications, including presentations to Amazon's executive leadership and Jeff Bezos.
